Fanny Ardant’s directing debut, "Ashes and Blood" ("Cendres et Sang"), produced by Paolo Branco’s Alfama Films in co-production with Libra Film, has entered the production stage. The screenplay, also written by the actress, revolves around a woman of foreign origin who is raising her three children since the assassination of her husband and who, during a wedding party in his family, decides to return to his country after 18 years of absence, and reviving old hatreds between rival clans.
