“Kino Caravan”, in production
“Kino Caravan”, in production – Titus Muntean's second feature film, based on a story by Ioan Grosan, has entered the production stage. The principal photography started on Octomber 22nd, near Savarsin.
A Romanian-German co-production between Libra Film and Kombinat Film, „Kino Caravan” has recently received a 150 000 Euro funding from MDM (Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung GmbH), a German regional film fund. The film is also supported by the National Film Center (CNC), and has won “Best Pitch Award” at Baltic Event in 2007 and a script development prize from SEE Cinema Network.
“Kino Caravan” is a black comedy which takes place in ‘60s’ Romania: an old truck, transformed into a traveling cinema, descends upon an isolated Transylvanian village in the early 60’s to show a propaganda film, only to be hindered by an endless rain.
The main actors of this film produced by Tudor and Oana Giurgiu are Mircea Diaconu, Dorian Boguta and Iulia Luminare.
