Special Mention for “Trixy” at Rome Film Festival

Tudor Giurgiu’s next directorial project was awarded a Special Mention at “Fabbrica dei Progetti”, a special section within Rome International Film Festival dedicated to supporting new independent filmmaking.

“Trixy” was selected together with 11 other projects in early development to be presented to sales agents, producers, distributors and broadcasters present in Rome. The jury was made up of three important European producers, Cedomir Kolar, Simon de Santiago si Rosanna Seregni, who motivated their choice for the Special Mention thus: “For presenting an impressive portrait of a fascinating but unknown figure in Europe’s recent history.”

The film is inspired by the life and career of one of the most important Romanian dancers, Trixy Checais, and the project will be developed with the support of Razvan Mazilu and Gina Serbanescu, the ones who presented Trixy’s career to the general public for the first time, in 2007.
